Off the Coast of Cuba (MAR 25)

We awoke paralleling the north coast of Cuba (red arrow).
As indicated on the map above, there is a line of ships ahead and astern of us and a similar line going in the other direction. The bird's eye view of the Caribbean shows an amazing amount of ship traffic. (Red icons indicate tankers.)
This was a "sea day" which we used to settle into our cruising routine.

We had dinner in the Pinnacle Grill, one of the specialty restaurants. For the appetizer, we had the maple bacon clothesline, a great start to a delicious meal.
We were first introduced to a bacon clothesline by Larry & Nancy E. about a year ago when they led a group of us to The Charred Oak Tavern in Middleboro, MA.

We rounded the eastern tip of Cuba about 10 PM. As we turned into the northern end of the Windward Passage between Cuba and Hispaniola, the strong wind that the ship had been sailing straight into all day now buffeted the port side causing the ship to have a slight roll. It was not enough to send landlubbers scrambling for green apples, ginger and saltines, but it was noticeable.

Before going to bed we set our clocks ahead one hour.
